The Antro del Corchia is located in the high Versilia area, precisely in the municipality of Levigliani, and is a collection of 53 km of tunnels and wells and the largest karstic complex.
Antro del Corchia, with its 53 kilometers of tunnels and wells, is the largest hypogenic karst complex in Italy. Even the difference in level, with its 1.187-meter drop between the highest opening and the bottom of the cave, is one of the most remarkable to be found in Italy and in Europe. The peculiarity of the Corchia Karst System is its extreme evolutionary and morphological complexity. It is, as a matter of fact, a three-dimensional grid encased in a marble and dolomite block which is roughly 2 Km long, 1 Km wide and 1,2 Km high. The tourists can penetrate the inside of the Corchia along a 1 Km-long equipped path and then reach the heart of the mountain and of the karst system.
The Versiliana festival takes place every summer in the Versiliana park with prose, ballet and music performances, which are joined by meetings with famous personalities, exhibitions, children's space.
